Yes, it’s that time of year again! The GHRFC Past Versus Present Spring Ball is fast approaching so dust off those tuxedos and ball dresses and get ready for an evening of drunkenness and frivolity.

The fun begins during the day when the boys’ first team will play a gruelling 80 minutes of rugby against past Guy’s players. Who will win? Do the old boys still have what it takes or will youth win the day?

After the match there will be time to get cleaned up and get back to Honour Oak Park to start the celebrations. The champagne reception will start at 7:30 pm when you’ll have the chance to mingle. This is a good opportunity to see everyone’s outfits before they get covered in food and port!

At 8 pm, we will ask you to be seated at your tables for a 3-course meal and wine, followed by coffee and port. Dinner will be followed by a toast from the President and Captain of the club and the presentations of the year’s achievements will take place. Get ready for yet more excitement when you hear the infamous words “iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit’s raffle time!”, when we’ll be making a few people happier (or drunker) by presenting them with some great raffle prizes. When this is all over, you’ll have a chance to bust some moves on the dance floor to the sounds of the London Smokes, Guy’s hottest band! For the hardcore partiers, there will also be a DJ until 1 am. Who will make it to the end? And who will lose their shoes this year? Only time will tell!

I have put aside a few extra tickets so there is still a chance to come if you haven’t yet bought your tickets. If you would like a ticket, please send your cheque (£65 students; £75 non-students), made payable to Guy’s RFC Supporter’s Club to Neile Meecham at 47 Longdon Wood, Keston Park, Keston, Kent, BR2 6EN and I’ll give you your ticket on the night. Please can everyone make sure they remember their tickets to show that they have paid. I look forward to seeing you all there!

The final year medics (Ickle, Gill, Yvonne and of course JO) find out if they've made it to the rank of 'Dr' today, 12noon. Come join us for the mighty piss up - either way we will be drinking a lot of alcohol.
